Three reasons to work with a consultant when setting up a business in Dubai

Setup is a small part of the picture. What comes before and after decides whether your business hits the ground running.

1

Structure recommendation before you pay a licence fee

Decisions you make now can either help you hit the ground running or cause expensive headaches to wind back later.

  • Activity-fit review across the 40+ Freezones in the UAE plus DED Mainland.
  • 0% or 9% Corporate Tax analysis before you commit to a structure.
  • Full itemised quote for setup, visas and post-setup fees.
2

Post-setup support that keeps you moving

Setup is the start. We handle everything that comes next so you can trade from day one.

  • Banking introductions to Wio, Mashreq NEO, Emirates NBD and more.
  • Relocation support for Emirates ID visas, family and housing intros.
  • Introductions to our network of insurers, lawyers and advisers.
3

International tax advisory on hand

Founders moving to Dubai rarely have just one jurisdiction to think about. Our advisers plug the gaps.

  • Cross-border structuring advice for founders keeping ties abroad.
  • Treaty and residency positions mapped to your goals.
  • Bookkeeping and reporting in Xero from your first transaction.

Mainland or Freezone. Which one fits your business?

Both are UAE companies. Different rules on ownership, tax, and who you can trade with.

Freezone

Best for exports, services abroad, and IP-holding

  • 100% foreign ownership by default, no local sponsor needed.
  • 0% Corporate Tax on qualifying income if you meet the substance conditions.
  • Annual audited accounts now required by most Freezones for licence renewal.
  • Cannot invoice UAE Mainland customers directly without a local distributor.
Mainland

Best for trading with UAE customers and government

  • Trade freely across the UAE, including with mainland customers.
  • Eligible for government contracts and public tenders.
  • 9% Corporate Tax on profits above AED 375,000. Standard rate applies.
  • Auditor required every year under UAE Commercial Companies Law.
Neither route is automatically cheaper or simpler once you look past the initial licence fee. A 30-minute consultation is often enough to lock in the right one.
